Charge: Assault & Battery with a Dangerous Weapon
Details: My client was maneuvering into a parking space in a crowded lot when she observed a man standing in the designated spot. She gestured through the windshield, signaling him to clear the area, but the man refused to leave. As my client slowly advanced her vehicle, the man struck her car with his fist and began shouting, though his words were not audible to my client. She promptly reversed and secured an alternate parking space elsewhere in the lot. The man then contacted law enforcement alleging that my client struck him with her vehicle. Officers interviewed both parties and charged my client with Assault & Battery with a Dangerous Weapon.
The matter proceeded to a Clerk Magistrate’s Hearing, at which I presented several key arguments in my client’s favor. I highlighted her virtually unblemished criminal record and drew the Clerk’s attention to the complainant’s own statements to police, specifically that while he claimed to have sustained injuries, the physical examination of his leg revealed only preexisting scars with no evidence of fresh trauma.
Following my advocacy on her behalf, the Clerk declined to issue a criminal complaint. My client will face no further legal consequences as a result of this matter and her record remains fully intact.

Charge: Assault & Battery on Household/Family Member
Details: Law enforcement officers were dispatched to my client’s residence following a 911 call reporting a domestic disturbance. It was subsequently determined my client placed the 911 call himself. Upon arrival, officers interviewed both parties and established that a physical altercation had occurred. My client sustained injuries during the incident and required transport to a medical facility for treatment. He was thereafter charged with Assault and Battery on a Family/Household Member.
The matter proceeded to a Clerk Magistrate’s Hearing, at which I presented evidence demonstrating that my client had been experiencing a mental health episode at the time of the altercation, that his actions were in self-defense, and that he remained under medical care for his injuries. Following review of the evidence, the police department agreed to continue the matter for six months, contingent upon my client maintaining regular contact with the department’s Pretrial Diversion Coordinator. No criminal complaint was issued, and my client’s previously unblemished record remained intact.

Charges: Assault and Battery on Household/Family Member, Witness Intimidation
Details: Police officers responded to my client’s residence following a disconnected 911 call. Upon arrival, officers interviewed my client’s spouse, who reported that my client was intoxicated and alleged that he had taken her cell phone and committed an assault. As the proceedings advanced, my client’s spouse expressed her intent not to cooperate with the prosecution. I represented my client and his spouse at a hearing to modify the conditions of release, seeking authorization for my client to return to the marital residence. Subsequently, the matter was scheduled for trial. I counseled my client’s spouse regarding her right to invoke her marital privilege. Upon her assertion of the privilege, the prosecution was unable to proceed due to lack of available evidence. I moved to dismiss the charges, which the court granted. The outcome resulted in the complete dismissal of all charges and the preservation of my client’s unblemished record.

Charge: Assault and Battery on Household/Family Member
Details: My client was a young woman with serious medical complications who was charged with assault and battery on her mother. My client was staying at a hotel with her mother when she began to have a panic attack. Her episode was exacerbated by her medical condition. While her mother was trying to calm her, my client was seen reacting physically, pushing her mother away. Police were called and my client was charged with Assault and Battery on a household or family member. My client’s mother did not believe she was assaulted and did not wish to participate in the prosecution. I worked with the Assistant District Attorney assigned to the case by providing large amounts of medical records, letters of recommendation, and facilitated communication between the District Attorney’s Office and my client’s mother. The prosecutor agreed to continue the case for three months and agreed that, as long as no new incidents were reported, the case would be dismissed. In January 2026 I was able to secure a dismissal prior to arraignment which preserved my client’s clean record.
