Hit and Run

Leaving the Scene Causing Personal Injury or Property Damage

If you are charged with leaving the scene of a collision, you have two major concerns: the criminal charge and your license. In the criminal case, the prosecution will need to prove that you were involved in a collision either causing property damage or personal injury. In addition, they must prove that you left the scene of that collision without properly exchanging your identifying and insurance information.

Leaving the scene defense lawyer in Massachusetts

As with all criminal charges, it makes sense to have an attorney represent you because there are areas of the law and facts about your case that you may not be familiar with.

If your case involves personal injury, it is very likely that your license will be revoked if you are found guilty. Attorney Collins can work with you to achieve a plea deal that does not result in your license being revoked.

If you are charged with either of these offenses, you will likely be required to pay restitution. Many people do not realize, however, that you are entitled to a hearing on the issue of restitution. Attorney Collins can represent you at that hearing and will work to ensure that you are only asked to pay what you are actually responsible for.

Attorney Collins has successfully represented clients charged with leaving the scene of a collision and would be happy to work with you to achieve a positive result in your case.
